Industrial applications of all descriptions, such as biogas plants, natural gas plants, and coffee roasting facilities, depend on exhaust gas after-treatment systems to reduce harmful emissions and meet emissions standards.
These systems use catalytic converters or diesel particulate filters to achieve this goal. The environmentally friendly removal of pollutants in these systems is made possible by precious metals, primarily platinum and sometimes palladium and rhodium.
At the end of their useful life, the precious metals are recovered from industrial catalytic converters, and the secondary raw materials are then reintroduced into the production cycle.
